About Dr.Web

Founded in Russia in the early 90's, Dr.Web has grew to serve and protect as a major player in the European market. The head-quarters of Dr.Web are located in Moscow, while the development and virus-monitoring team stay connected from Saint-Petersburg, watching for new threats and vulnerabilities 24/7.

Dr.Web has a wide range of products that are supported on multiple platforms, like Windows, Unix and even OS/2. Moreover, Dr.Web offers products for everyone, from home users to small/medium business to enterprises where it can be integrated into mail servers, file servers and even gateways.

Philosophy

Our idea of anti-virus software is that it stays out of the way while still protecting valuable data. We realize that viruses are unforgiving, and sometimes even the smallest loss can be damaging, but that's not an excuse for anti-virus software to consume resources, especially when they're demanded in high-profile environments1.

Dr.Web's philosophy revolves around two key concepts, security and efficiency. Dr.Web's viruses are extremely compact that even on 56k dial-up connects it takes less than a minute to keep the system up-to-date with the latest virus definitions. Most newly-released viruses find a cure within the first hour or so in Dr.Web's labs, and the "antidote" is distributed around the world within the next few hours.

From Personal to Enterprise

We take all security threats personally, whether or not the solution is designed for a single computer, or for an enterprise with hundreds of computers. We're confident that Dr.Web can cover your back.

For Workstations

Dr.Web Business is available for both Windows and UNIX-like operating. It's suitable for personal computers or small networks that don't require central management. It's built on the same engine that protects enterprise networks and updates its virus bases several times a day.

Dr.Web Business can also scan your incoming and outgoing email and cure it from worms and other malicious attachments.

For Enterprises.

It can become a hassle to manage larger network, ensuring that everybody has the latest virus definitions and that they're actually running their anti-virus software.

It's even more difficult to track these workstations and get a detailed report on incidents, possible infections and their sources, especially when worms spread across email.

Dr.Web Enterprise Suite offers you the solution. This package is split into two main components:

  1. A server-side resident software which is responsible for keeping virus bases up to date, enforcing scan policies, gathering information from workstations and reporting to the administrator.

  2. A tiny client installed on each workstation. It's responsible for actually scanning the workstation and curing infections, it reads its settings from the server and acts depending on them.

Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is available for Windows, many flavors of Linux and BSD2 and even Novell NetWare and Sun Solaris3.

Data Security

Our ultimate goal is to protect data from vandalism. This includes protecting it against virus attacks, hacker attacks, and external threats.

Currently, we're partnering with WebSense and ContentKeeper to ensure a high level of security. These products are able to monitor and filter all the traffic from and to your corporate network. You can set permissions and policies to control who goes where, make sure data doesn't leak outside the company, and in case it does, you can easily determine how and who.

These products can support automatic software upgrades and high throughput in critical environments. When software is being updated they automatically switch to by-pass mode.

In addition to being able to block and filter content, traffic control goes a long to optimize your network. With traffic control, you can make sure that unnecessary programs don't consume valueable bandwidth. You can allocate priority "zones" which depend on the applications you need.

In addition to that, our partnership with Scan Associates gives us a great advantage in providing a few unique solutions, such as end-to-end encryption between servers and workstations, completely data privacy and biometric computer authentication.

We know your data matters. After all, it's a big part of a company's capital. And that's the reason we try our best to protect it from any harm possible.
